The Department and Team
Working in 1 of 3 teams within the omnichannel retail domain you will work alongside 1 other QA professional to ensure new features, enhancements and bugfixes are deployed with the highest standards. You will be supported by the 4 other dedicated test automation engineers working in the 2 other teams, a Core Team who support the development of the test automation framework, and a growing QA Community of over 25 QA professionals

Responsibilities:
- Review and analyse requirements and (technical) system specifications
- Collaborate with developers to develop effective test strategies and plans
- Lead the creation of test scenarios (manual and automated)
- Implement and execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyse results
- Create logs to document testing phases and defects
- Report and manage bugs and errors to/with development teams
- Help troubleshoot issues
- Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing and identify iterative improvements to quality of releases
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the agile development lifecycle
- Assist the QA Community with ongoing improvements to QA processes
- Measure quality wherever possible!

Requirements:
Must have:
- Proven experience as a QA professional or similar role (minimum 2 years)
- Experience in project management and QA methodologies
- Experience of working in an Agile environment
- Working knowledge of Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD)
- Working knowledge of JIRA (and X-Ray add-on) or similar test management tool
- Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
- 1-2+ years' experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (including in-house testing frameworks)
- Knowledge of Java (the codebase of our test automation framework)

Preferred:
- Experience with SAP (preferably Retail; FI, CRM, WM)
- Working knowledge of Cucumber/Gherkin
- Java experience
- ISTQB and/or TMap certifications
- API testing experience using SOAPUI, POSTMAN
- Native application testing
- Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and related tooling (Jenkins, Git)
- Ability to document and troubleshoot errors

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Plan, write, execute, and refactor manual test cases
  • Test and certify features for release
  • Conduct peer reviews for tests and test cases
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and track defect resolution to completion
  • Review and provide feedback on test designs and test cases
  • Manual testing and automated regression testing using test automation frameworks
