The Team
The Tommy Hilfiger Close to Body division is a small team of dedicated professionals that focus on underwear, swim and lounge wear. Based in the Amsterdam European HQ, the team is split into 4 sub teams: Design, Production, Sourcing & Development, Buying & Planning and Merchandising & Sales 

These 4 teams work together in an informal setting to create superbly styled and high-end quality products for the European consumer base. Tommy Hilfiger CTB presents 2 collections per year (Spring / Summer & Fall / Winter).

The Position
Reporting into the Senior Design Manager, this role will be responsible for the design of the men's and women's swim range for Tommy Jeans. You will work on 2 swimwear collections per year and any ABO's (additional business opportunities). The right candidate has a strong understanding of swimwear and will work closely with the wider team to make sure the Tommy Hilfiger brand DNA is in every garment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement swimwear specific trends to support the seasonal direction and market trends and ensure consistency through products and ranges
  • Research fabrics and trims for product in collaboration with sourcing and production team
  • Propose creative and innovative design ideas related to the swimwear market and in line with the brand identity
  • Design men's & women's pure swim and swim cover ups in accordance with the brief and range plan and following the vision of the senior design director
  • Create presentations of ideas and maintain boards & presentations for Concept and Sketch Reviews. You will present the work
  • Work directly with suppliers and buying offices to ensure clarity of product development and through to final samples, in collaboration with in-house product development team
  • Keen interest in 3D design (Lotta & VStitcher) as the Tommy Hilfiger Swim team takes a role within PVH digital journey to digitize our whole product chain
  • Produce accurate tech packs for development and production, work into PLM system to provide product details
  • Ensure proper handover of tech packs and product specification to the product development department and development sources. Main duty is to submit all relevant information needed for the development of the product such as original design, color indication, execution information, what fabrics and trims to use, placement of artworks
  • Travel abroad for inspiration, visiting fairs and for vendor visits

    The Ideal Candidate:
  • Bachelor degree (B.A.) from college or university in design or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' industry experience, with a minimum of 2 years swim wear experience
  • In depth knowledge of swim fabrics and swimwear trends
  • Affinity with swimwear fashion
  • Innovative and collaborative designer with good understanding of constructions and materials
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • A fast and organized designer to cope with the fast pace of seasons.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, fluency in written and spoken English are a must.
  • 3D design programs Lotta & VStitcher are a plus.
