The Department and Team
The Tommy Hilfiger Brand Office is structured to help align and elevate all consumer-facing work across Merchandising, Design, Marketing and Creative Services, in addition to being the interface with other key headquarter and regional business partners. Within the Brand Office, the Brand Office Communications team is responsible for driving impactful exposure and engagement internally and externally around brand and business strategy. 

The Position
This is a maternity cover. The Sr. Manager Global Corporate Communications, Tommy Hilfiger provides strategic corporate communications planning, guidance and support to protect and elevate the company's business and brand strategy and impacts, and the profile of its senior Executives. 


The position requires 3 crucial skills/experiences:
1.   Demonstrated ability to manage complex, fast-paced, sensitive crisis topics across diverse internal and external stakeholder groups.
2.   Experience in crafting strong C-Suite presentations and speeches that convert tactical and operational information into inspiring and memorable stories for internal and external audiences.
3.   Track record of landing powerful corporate positioning and reputation feature stories through strong business and industry trade press relationships.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Corporate Communications:
    • Pitch and deliver company and brand features that move the needle on our reputation in core strategic areas of Sustainability, Inclusivity, Digitization, Premiumization/Relevance, and Connection to Culture.
    • Leverage pre-existing network and proactively build new partnerships with top tier reporters, entrepreneurs, editors, culture commentators, and technology/fashion leaders to achieve high-impact media coverage.
    • Research potential award opportunities and organize submissions
    • Partner with in-house copywriter to craft interview Talking Points, Quotes and Q&A responses, reactive statements (among others).
       

Reputation Management & Crisis Communications:

  • Fast-paced, 24/7 crisis response and management to key incidents that arise, including generating a 360 snap shot of the issue with all relevant inputs, bringing in expert agency advice, crafting necessary communications tools for all stakeholder-facing channels, and maintaining a historical record of all incidents.
  • Track and distribute daily Brand Mentions, monitoring where and how the brand is featured in media, and determining if follow up action is required.
  • Facilitate approvals for associate external speaking engagements; ensure direction and content aligns to company policies and guidelines.

 

Brand Story Telling Governance: 

  • Collaborate with key partners/functions( inc. Executive and Associate Communications, Operations, Business Development, Product, Merchandising) to craft narratives that take our brand strategies and accomplishments from dry fact-based overviews to compelling stories that change audience perceptions, rally the organization behind key priorities, and create a red thread story from (internal and external) touch point to touch point.
  • Identify most powerful channels (internal & external) to bring to life and engage on our brand story.
     

Logistics:

  • Manage budget/spend priorities based on strategic objectives.
  • Management of the Newsroom.tommy.com platform.
  • Management of corporate asset and document library to allow for easy retrieval and archival
     

The Ideal Candidate: 

  • 7-9 years of experience in fields relevant to this role. Experience in fashion/consumer lifestyle industries is a must.
  • Proven understanding of the fashion landscape (trade, industry, investors, wholesale customers)
  • Agency background and/or experience in matrix organizations is plus.
  • Proven experience working effectively with global and cross-functional partners, capable of navigating a dynamic and collaborative environment, and prioritizing the most urgent and important business
  • Understands modern media landscape, native in all major global social media platforms.
  • Strong pre-existing relationships with top tier fashion and tech trade media. 
  • Demonstrated issues management and crisis communications experience for a well-established company/brand in a matrix organization. Global experience is highly preferred.
  • Highly proficient in Keynote, PowerPoint
  • Attention to detail is critical
  • Strong writing skills
