POSITION DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the sourcing & Production lead, the Senior Product Developer is Responsible for product management throughout the development process for the Denim bottoms business, specialized in this field to be able to independently drive the category from Range plan to Sampling. Overseeing the complete Denim category for Tommy Jeans as well, as manage the learning and development of direct reports. 

  • Responsible for taking the Sourcing Strategy / vendor-category relationship forward via e.g. capacity planning / allocation (identifying growth opportunities for vendors and vendor performance analysis.
  • Lead the initial sourcing initiatives from Creative Concept Launch, with the objective to foster innovation and to ensure competitive price points
  • Ensure quality of product and achievement of (margin) targets throughout the product development process
  • Responsible for product management throughout the development process, by attending key meetings (e.g. raw materials meeting, proto review, final price meeting, SMS review), and advising on possible improvements of product and margins, and signing off (preproduction) samples
  • Negotiate FOB prices, ensuring margins are maintained for actual order quantities
  • Review bulk orders with Buying & Planning to ensure timeliness of style bookings for bulk delivery
  • Maintain close relationships with the vendors, discussing development and managing escalation of pressing issues
  • Conduct post-season evaluation with vendors, assessing the season and possible improvements, and evaluate vendor performance
  • Drive efficiency improvement by analyzing processes and best practices, pursuing effective structures and ways of working, and working with cross-functional teams (e.g. Design & Wash Development) to capture opportunities, align processes, and create synergies (in ways of working)
  • Provide (ad hoc) analyses and reporting for presentations to management and key stakeholders
  • Oversee and consult on operational activities of team, including product development and administrative activities , and act on call-outs made by team (e.g. consulting on risk assessment, and ensuring accuracy of data in PLM)
  • Engage in projects related to improvement of quality of products or way of working
