The Position
The Technical Developer will work within the Calvin Klein Jeans division on CKJ , Men's and Women's denim.
As a developer, you will technically support and work closely with merchandisers, designers and product developers to realize seasonal collections.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing 1 to 3 seasonal workloads simultaneously
  • Managing fit and workmanship of all styles from Proto to Pre-Production samples.
  • Advising Design + Product Development teams which patterns/specs to use for which styles, and cultivating a culture of block adherence.
  • Building patterns and manipulating existing patterns to develop new fits
  • Fitting of garments on a live model in front of a larger team
  • Inputting of comments, drawn diagrams and annotated pictures into PLM. Giving clear instructions to factory how to adjust pattern and workmanship to achieve a better outcome.
  • Maintenance of specs and grading in PLM system.
  • Working with international team of Technical Developers (usually via email or online meetings) to perform risk assessment throughout a style's development. Working together with relevant teams to find appropriate solutions.
  • Weekly meetings with wider team to discuss upcoming deadlines and workload.
  • Management of Outlook inbox and calendar
  • Arranging and leading fittings, booking fit models etc.
  • Maintaining an up to date in-house block library in order to achieve fit consistency
  • Building of fit and technical overviews for clarity across teams
  • Supporting our 3D teams through the stitching together of patterns in Browzwear.
     

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Should exemplify organizational, time management and prioritization skills. The candidate will work on 3 seasons at once, and with multiple designers + product developers. A sound ability to keep oneself organized, manage deadlines and focus on what's important first is critical.
  • A team player. The wider team will occasionally call on each other for support to manage abnormally high workload or special projects. The ability to ask for help when necessary, and a willingness to support others, is important.
  • Analytical skills. Every day brings new challenges and problems to solve. A strong analytical skillset will benefit the candidate in researching, understanding and intelligently solving these challenges as they pop up.
  • A desire to keep learning and knowledge sharing. A keenness to both attain and share new
    knowledge keeps our team developing and relevant.
  • Strong communicator. Candidate will work with a diverse, multinational team of technical developers, designers + product developers. The ability to listen intentionally, ask critical
    questions and communicate clearly is essential.
