The Team
The TH Ecommerce Department is responsible for managing the European own and operated tommy.com sites across all European markets, shipping currently to 25 countries. The team operates all necessary functions to manage the Ecom business end-to-end. Our ecommerce business is growing at a fast pace and has very ambitious growth targets for the coming years. We are always exploring new ways to bring the industry forward and constantly accelerating the pace in which we do business.
As part of our Ecommerce Merchandising team, you will be working towards maximizing sales by delivering the best possible merchandising strategy on Tommy.com alongside Planning, Site Merchandising, Content, Master Data, Product Merchandising and External Partners.

Key Responsibilities:
BUYING:

  • Define the divisional assortment strategy in line with the Ecommerce and brand strategy, demand, trends and consumer insights
  • Work closely with the Planning team to build the seasonal assortment plan for both O&O and Partner Program
  • Oversee the buys for O&O and Partner Program with direct reports, ensuring an optimal assortment with no duplicates nor missed opportunities
  • Collaborate with Product Strategy in identifying in-season opportunities, pushing exclusives and trend-driven capsules
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the central divisions to support the Ecommerce business needs
  • Attend and contribute to divisions' key milestone meetings, driving Ecommerce specific needs
     

TRADING:

  • Be the division/category owner, driving growth across digital channels
     

Pre-Season

  • Ensure the buying strategy is translated into the seasonal presentations to the wider Ecommerce team, with clear, data backed requests and actions, supporting assortment development and growth
     

Go to market

  • Provide directional input across division/category to the content team and photo studio during creative briefs for shootings, looks, features, newsletter
  • Collaborate with Site Merchandising, Content, CRM, Traffic and UX to improve customer's experience, to optimize specific categories
     

In season

  • Fully understand how to action trading levers to drive and improve sales performance of category/division 
  • Partner with Planning team to implement tactical actions and promotional activities to support slow selling categories
  • Collaborate with the Partner Program team to leverage the additional business opportunit
  • Be informed about latest market trends and competitor insight to seek opportunities and translate into commercial product strategies
     

REPORTING / ANALYSES / PROJECTS:

  • Work with the Planning team to analyze weekly sales and onsite KPIs, monitor sell-through, present key learnings during trade meetings
  • Foster a strong relationship with consumer insights to understand the consumer
  • Collaborate with Planning and Trade Optimization team to identify reporting enhancements
  • Brief and feedback requirements on new cross-divisional tools and insight reports
  • Join taskforce to support company projects
     

COLLABORATION WITHIN WIDER ECOM TEAM:

  • Act as a key ambassador for the Ecommerce team by promoting and sharing customer knowledge and insights from Tommy.com to the wider business
  • Collaborate with various team such as Performance marketing, Analytics, Finance, Operations to drive Ecommerce growth
     

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:

  • Manage and develop direct reports
  • Support direct reports with their own division?s buying and trading activities
  • Support and contribute to wider team social events and team building culture
     

Skills required:

  • Minimum 7 years of commercial / buying experience with minimum of 4 years in Ecommerce 
  • Proven experience of defining and driving category strategy on digital platform
  • Strong analytical skills, fact based and number driven
  • Solid experience and understanding of digital KPIs and metrics
  • Excellent commercial awareness with a strong interest in the fashion industry and a consumer-centric mindset, always searching for future trends
  • Influencing and negotiating skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, ability to multi-task and to work well under pressure in a fast-paced demanding environment
  • Team orientated with strong leadership skills, previous proven experience in team management and development
  • Ability to bring new perspectives to the team, constantly assessing new ideas in terms of products and ways of working
  • Positive and “can do” attitude, flexible approach to learning and supportive team mentality 
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics, SAP a plus
  • Fluency in English is required
