Junior Designer & 3D

This opportunity is for a supporting role in the Tommy Jeans women's design team and its focus will be on all heavyweight knit and T-shirt product categories, working closely together with the Senior Designer and the Graphics team. You will be required to support the Senior Designer in building a cohesive product range based on sales, market demands and current trends befitting the Tommy Jeans brand. In this role you will learn how to build a commercial collection ranging from essential to fashion styles using various knitted qualities and fit blocks. Collaborating with the Product Development, the Tech and the Graphics team, the aim is to offer our customer the best product possible.

Your chief responsibilities will be:

  • Conduct product research based on current trends and competitors in order to send our vendors the seasonal sourcing briefs.
  • Support the Senior Designer with sketching and creating garment work sheets as well 
    as setting up the Build of Material in PLM.
  • Attend fittings and see to the administrative follow-up throughout the various phases in the design development process.
  • Help prep for presentations, both digitally and non-digitally
  • 3D design.
     

The Ideal Candidate: 

  • Is a recent graduate with a Bachelor degree in Fashion Design or equivalent design diploma (2019, 2020 or 2021).
  • Has no more than 0-2 years' experience in fashion (design only), ideally in Womenswear and with the knitted.jersey product.
  • Must have a very strong understanding of Gen Z and the youth market as this is our consumer target.
  • Has a strong understanding of the Tommy Jeans brand and a design handwriting matching its DNA. An affinity with streetwear and youth culture is preferable.
  • Has a keen interest and aptitude in 3D design (CLO / Browzwear) - this is a big chunk of the role's responsibilities
  • Is technically skilled in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. 
  • Has kills in the English language, both verbal and in writing. 
  • Has a hands-on and collaborative mentality as both are key in this fast-paced, dynamic environment.
