The Team


The Tommy Hilfiger Womenswear division is one of the main business drivers within Tommy Hilfiger Europe. Based in the Amsterdam European HQ, the team is split into 4 sub teams: Design, Production, Sourcing & Development, Buying & Planning and Merchandising & Sales



These 4 teams work together in an informal setting to create superbly styled and high-end quality products for the European consumer base. Tommy Hilfiger Womenswear presents 4 collections per year (Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter).



The Position



As a Constructed Woven Senior Designer working in the Womenswear Division, you will be part of the Design team creating and executing seasonal collections for the product category “Constructed/Casual wovens”.


Focusing on tailoring, blazers, bottoms, constructed dresses and casual woven washed chino product. You will work closely with the wovens design team, the product developers and merchandise team. You will also design and execute seasonal collections for review by the Design Director and Creative Director.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Identifying emerging trends seasonally that are reflective of the Tommy Hilfiger spirit.


  • Working with the product teams to develop: silhouette, construction, fabric concepts, color palettes, washes and trims.


  • Collaborating daily with Merchandising and Product Development teams to potentialize the right product seasonally and growth through new product areas


  • Ensuring the range is directional and commercial, in line with the tommy brand identity, whilst also connecting with the target consumer.


  • Responsible for leading all fit sessions and working closely alongside the technical team.


  • Excellent communication skills and experience developing product directly with factories in Asia and Europe in a clear and concise manner. Experience issuing highly detailed technical spec files to suppliers.




The Ideal Candidate


  • 5-6 years of experience in Fashion Design


  • Graduated at a degree level or equivalent.


  • Excellent computer skills (Illustrator/Photoshop) & hand-drawn skills


  • Understanding of 3D softwear such as Browzwear


  • Business English fluency (both written and verbal)


  • Ability to translate trends into a commercial collection with a contemporary handwriting


  • Is able to work in a highly productive, sometime hectic environment with a hands-on mentality


  • Ability to travel within Europe for supplier visits
