The team:


The Technical Development team develops and delivers both innovative and sustainable products for Tommy Hilfiger. Responsible for the end-to-end technical development of the product, from initial concept through to physical garments, pioneering high quality & product excellence, as well as delivering on company & divisional KPI’s.


Closely partnering with several stakeholders, from PD (Product Development), design & merchandising, through to global teams this role plays an intricate part in delivering the Tommy Hilfiger brand DNA.



The Position:


Ensure quality of product and achievement of sustainability targets throughout the technical product development process, by collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, vendors and guiding Technical Product Development team. Supports efficiency improvement by ensuring accuracy of data in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) and analyzing processes and best practices, pursuing effective structures and ways of working.


Oversee and consult on operational activities of team, providing high-level guidance through highlighting overall brand/product strategy and KPIs. Acts on callouts made by team (e.g. overdevelopment, calendar, or vendor performance) and escalate accordingly.


Accountable for technical product management throughout the development process, by attending key meetings (e.g. sketch launch meeting, proto review, SMS review), and advising on improvements of product to handover for production.



Role and Responsibilities:


  • Research & development


  • Recruit, maintain & nurture high performing teams, including managing learning and development of direct reports & wider teams development.


  • Promoting and model the company values in all areas of the role.


  • Maintain close relationships with supply value chain & vendors in all aspects related to brand & product expectations


  • Operational activity supervision to achieve product-category specific KPIs (e.g. 3D, sustainability, innovation, overdevelopment, and on-time comment delivery)


  • Provides input for certain P&L items (e.g. budget planning, travel, headcount, cost savings initiatives)


  • Provide (ad hoc) analyses and reporting for presentations to management and key stakeholders



The Ideal Candidate:


  • 5 years of experience minimum with preference of 2+ years managing


  • A bachelor/ master’s degree in fashion, garment technology, pattern cutting or equivalent experience in fashion, clothing, or textiles industry


  • Strong knowledge in all aspects of technical product development, including product construction, production & quality, grading & pattern development/ management within relevant category


  • Effective communication skills: inclusive team player, interdepartmental collaboration, stakeholder management


  • Strong analytical skills with proactive problem solving skills and attention to data and policies


  • Able to work in a highly productive, multicultural, fast paced environment with a hands-on approach


  • Self-driven, pragmatic, and business mind set


  • Ability to travel internationally

  • Good command of written & spoken English
