The Position



The Service Assistant reports directly to the Facility Supervisor Services within the Operations team. The main responsibility of the Service Assistant is to conduct (minor) facility and mailroom activities in and around the different buildings of PVH in Amsterdam. Work according to a rotating weekly schedule to provide the best services needed to meet the overall look and feel of the office buildings. Services include but are not limited to.



Key Responsibilities:


o   Make sure all cases/works are picked up in a timely and correct manner.


o   Responsible for overall look and feel of the office buildings.


o   Mailroom support, bring and pick up packages to the various departments.


o   Daily clean up in and around the buildings when necessary


o   Conducting daily building rounds in order to notice faults and imperfections in and around the different buildings. Report these faults and imperfections to the service desk for follow-up. If possible, conduct these works yourself immediately.


o   Help couriers to unload trucks/vans.


o   Bring and pick up packages to the various departments and deliveries between our locations in the Houthavens (Campus Shuttle Service).


o   Maintain the cleanliness of outside spaces such as parking lot, bike sheds, and sidewalks.


o   Assisting in internal moves


o   Responsible for setting up the meeting rooms and concept spaces.


o   Adjusting desks/desk chairs


o   Delivering packages to other buildings in the Houthavens with the medium size truck


o   Fixing door handles/mechanisms/door closers/strike plates/hinges


o   Removing/handling/replacing ceiling tiles


o   Replacing/adjusting lights


o   Hanging frames/other wall mounted systems.


o   Installing clothing rails/shelving in various different storage systems


o   Clearing blockages in drains/toilets


o   Filling/sanding/painting of walls and door frames


o   Maintaining furniture by sanding/oiling/varnishing to ensure it stays in good condition.


o   Assemble/disassemble/reassemble furniture.



The Ideal Candidate description:


o   2 years of experience minimum in operational corporate facilities office environment as a handy man


o   A technical background and education on LBO/MBO level or equivalent experience in managing corporate facilities office environments.


o   Hold VCA-basis/VOL or is willing to obtain.


o   Computer skills: MS Office


o   Oral and writing skills in English and preferably Dutch.


o   Detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem solving.


o   Organized and good communication skills


o   Client- and service oriented


o   Hands-on mentality


o   Team player with ability to work autonomously.


o   Drivers-license B
