The Position:
As a member of the HCL Commerce platform team focused on Digital Sales, your primary responsibilities will involve building and maintaining the future state of the platform. This includes ensuring high quality and performance under load, establishing observability practices, and creating portable and reusable solutions.
We are currently looking for an engineer who possesses at least 5 years of experience in HCL Commerce, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in microservices, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native development to be able to:
Optimize data load, data propagation, and indexing processes to improve data handling efficiency.
Implement near real-time data ingestion for product, price, and inventory updates.
Work with streams of data originating from various systems and ingest them into the HCL Commerce platform.
Expose HCL Commerce transactional data as streams to other systems for seamless integration.
Develop and manage REST APIs both within the HCL Commerce platform and externally.
Set up comprehensive monitoring for data, applications, and infrastructure to ensure performance and reliability.
Implement and manage search engine and caching solutions to optimize data retrieval and user experience.
Ensure that new data integrations adhere to architectural requirements and standards.
Create and implement methods to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
Assist various stakeholders with data-oriented requests and provide solutions to their queries.
Your profile:
Embracing an API-first and event-driven approach, along with a mindset focused on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation.
Possessing a DevOps mentality and having experience with code reviews to promote collaboration and code quality.
Ability to propose and implement technical solutions to address complex challenges.
Experience working in an agile environment, adapting to changing requirements and delivering iterative solutions.
Openness to giving and receiving constructive feedback, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Strong communication skills in English to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
What we are looking for:
Strong experience and knowledge of the HCL Commerce data model, including Product, Price, Inventory, Order, Promotion, and SEO.
Proficiency in developing systems and scripts using Java, Python, and JavaScript programming languages.
Familiarity with AWS services, including Lambda, SQS, SNS, S3, and IAM, and the ability to effectively leverage them in development.
Exposure to search engine integration, allowing for seamless integration and utilization within the applications or systems.
Experience integrating with and utilizing various technologies such as REST APIs, S3 file storage, SFTP, and different file formats.
Experience working with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Dynatrace, and Grafana to ensure system performance and stability.
Nice to have:
Proficiency in building CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Jenkins for automated software delivery and deployment.
Experience with Terraform, an infrastructure as code (IaC) tool, to provision and manage infrastructure resources.
Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes, containerization, and orchestration technologies, to enable efficient deployment and scaling of applications.
Bonus Points:
Experience in migrating from HCL Commerce to microservices architecture.
Proficiency in working with Kafka streams for event-driven data processing.
AWS certification indicating expertise in Amazon Web Services.
