Its focus is designing and marketing high-quality men’s tailored clothing and sportswear, women’s collection apparel and sportswear, kidswear, denim collections, underwear (including robes, sleepwear and loungewear), footwear and accessories. Through select licensees, Tommy Hilfiger offers complementary lifestyle products such as eyewear, watches, fragrance, swimwear, socks, small leather goods, home goods and luggage.
THE TEAM
The LAB division is within the product department and is focused on the creation of exciting projects that sit outside of the main Tommy Hilfiger and Tommy Jeans offers. A small team that works simultaneously on projects across both brands mostly with external partners on collaborations as well as internal briefs.
The LAB exists to create capsules that celebrate the DNA of the brands to drive brand awareness, brand credibility and increase brand desire.
THE POSITION
This position within the LAB team is an exciting opportunity to join one of the most fast-paced and exciting teams within PVH.
Reporting to the Senior Design Manager you will be working across both the Tommy Hilfiger and Tommy Jeans brands on a diverse range of design projects to drive elevation and create a halo effect on our brands. Previous examples of these projects have included collaborations with external brands and designers, celebrity dressing for key fashion events, creative concepts for seasonal brand direction, and internal brand capsules.
RESPONSABILITIES
Conduct product research based on current trends, competitors to be used as input for concepts per project/season including mood, silhouette, fabrication and trims.
Support the Senior Designer with creating detailed Tech Packs and sourcing briefs. Be able to communicate your styles/ideas to product development teams and vendors efficiently throughout the critical path. Maintain and work to key deadlines.
Attendance and participation at proto reviews, fittings, costing meetings and merchandising meetings throughout the critical path.
Assist other senior members of the design team to prepare for collection review, product presentations as well as any Ad-Hoc tasks and projects.
Admin tasks.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Bachelor degree in Fashion Design or equivalent design diploma.
Has 1-3 years’ experience in fashion apparel design
Design, Construction and technical knowledge across all apparel product categories (Sweaters, Jersey, OTW, Denim, Woven) to make techpack
Strong Adobe Illustrator skills (Photoshop is a bonus)
Organised and flexible as this position requires being able to work on multiple different seasons and projects simultaneously
Has strong skills in the English language, both verbal and in writing.
Has a hands-on and collaborative mentality as both are key in this fast-paced, dynamic environment
Understanding of the Tommy Hilfiger and Tommy Jeans brand DNA and American pop culture references
High level of professionalism and confidentiality
