The General Merchandising Strategy team (GMS):

The role of the CK GMS team is to guide and support the divisions with analytics to make the best possible merchandising decisions. The team currently consist of 7 roles, and the team members are currently organised against the divisional structure (each team member dedicated to several divisions). The team is filled with talented, ambitious, and passionate professionals, all with multi years of experience in the team.


The team’s core responsibilities are:

1. Define divisional collection targets on a variety of collection KPI’s (wholesale value, margin, quantity, sustainability, inclusivity, collection size, productivity), and track the performance against these throughout the collection development process and sales periods.

2. Develop and manage cross-divisional tools and reports aimed to improve divisional performance on collection KPI’s, e.g., smart pricing tools, reports on margin development, and competitor analysis (market share, product, pricing trends)

3. Lead or participate in cross-divisional Merchandising Strategy projects

4. Conduct and communicate ad hoc analyses either at own initiative or upon request of global, regional, or divisional leadership


The Position:

The General Merchandising Strategy Analyst will support the CKE merchandising divisions enabling line efficiencies and profitability as well as deep dive analysis into specific business needs. The candidate is responsible for driving cohesive business analysis and insights through the lens of the divisions, actively partnering with merchants, strategy, and development leads, enabling them to drive educated decision making.


The General Merchandising Strategy Analyst:

The GMS Analyst leads the x-divisional merchandising analysis to support divisional strategies. The successful candidate reports directly into the Senior Director Merchandising Strategy.

This is a maternity cover role within the Merchandising Strategy team, where the creative thinking analyst will be responsible for establishing a consumer first mentality across key functions. The candidate will be responsible for enhancing the product creation process with analysis stemming from sell in and sell out data and consumer insights. The candidate in this role?s key responsibility will be to drive product efficiency, profitability and reporting and analysis to divisional leadership, and GMS peers.


The successful profile of the candidate will include primarily, but not exclusively:

  • Expert analytical skills (through i.e.: excel, tableau, merchandising analytical framework)

  • Expert merchandising knowledge and experience (understanding of efficiency, profitability metrics, collection structure, invest/divest strategies)

  • Collaborative spirit (ability to work with a variety of partners and functions simultaneously)

  • Learning mindset (curiosity to investigate, learn business aspects at a fast pace)



A fundamental success factor for this team member is the ability to learn quickly and have the flexibility to shift and adjust to business needs. As the partners of this leader are wide and senior, the ability to prioritize work with clear understanding of urgencies is critical for success.


Key Deliverables:

Drive Regular Reporting - Support Close to Body and CK Lifestyle Apparel with regular reporting and analysis on:

  • Sell Out

  • Sell In/Best Seller Management

  • Dashboard updates

  • Post Season Evaluation



Drive X-divisional Analysis ? regular cadence and ad-hoc:

  • Divisional performance deep dives

  • Price Point Analysis

  • Product margin insights

  • Collection efficiency



Key Meetings support:

  • Provision of accurate and timely insights from historical performance

  • Product imagery, key investment performance

  • Insights and compelling storytelling angles



Required skills and competences:

  • Expert Merchandising Analytics

  • Expert Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • Experience with Business intelligence tools (Tableau preferred)

  • Apparel product business acumen

  • Self-Starter

  • Ability to shift gears quickly

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Humble collaborative mindset



Education and experience:

  • 2+ years of product merchandising related experience (merchandising analytics, merchandising operations, demand planning)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising/Business/Analytics

  • Experience and knowledge in fashion and apparel industry, or FMG
