Job Purpose


The Employee Relations Partner is responsible for managing and resolving complex employee relations (ER) matters across the Netherlands, while supporting selected cases or projects across EMEA as needed. The role ensures consistent, fair, and compliant application of company policies and labor law, and acts as a trusted advisor to HR Business Partners, managers, and associates.


The ER Partner drives proactive case management, facilitates early conflict resolution, and contributes to continuous improvement of ER policies, processes, and tools that promote a positive and inclusive workplace.


Key Responsibilities


Case Management & Advisory


Lead the investigation and resolution of complex ER cases, including performance, conduct, and grievance matters, ensuring fair, timely, and compliant outcomes.


Advise and coach HRBPs and managers on employee relations issues, ensuring decisions are aligned with policy, legal standards, and company values.


Partner closely with Legal, Health & Safety, and Occupational Health teams to ensure consistent and compliant handling of cases.



Sickness & Absence Management


Manage complex sickness and absence cases in collaboration with vendors and internal stakeholders.


Analyze patterns and escalate systemic issues to enable proactive interventions that support associate well-being and reduce absenteeism.



Policy & Compliance


Ensure compliance with Dutch labor laws and internal policies.


Support continuous review and modernization of ER policies, practices, and templates to reflect best practice and evolving legal requirements.


Maintain transparent and accurate documentation of all ER cases in line with audit and GDPR requirements.

Data & Insights


Track and analyze ER and sickness trends to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.


Contribute insights and recommendations that improve employee experience and organizational effectiveness.


Collaboration & Stakeholder Management


Build strong partnerships with HR Business Partners, Legal Counsel, and business leaders to ensure consistent ER practices and positive employee outcomes.


Support regional ER projects and initiatives as assigned, sharing expertise and best practices across EMEA.

Skills & Qualifications


Experience & Knowledge


Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Employment Law, or related field.


5+ years of experience in Employee Relations or HR advisory roles, ideally within a multinational or matrix environment.


In-depth knowledge of Dutch labor law and regulations; familiarity with broader EMEA employment legislation is an advantage.


Proven experience managing complex investigations and sickness cases.

Ability to interpret data and translate insights into practical recommendations.


Skilled in balancing legal compliance with business and people needs.

Fluent in English and Dutch (written and spoken).
