The Department & Team Scope
The Omnichannel Development, Finance & Business Operations department formalizes the omnichannel strategy, drives the development of associated business processes & consumer services as well as leading their operational implementation. The department is also in charge of evaluating the business and financial performance of the omnichannel business. 
Within the department, the Omnichannel Products team drives the discovery, design, development, improvements and maintenance of all digital omnichannel and retail products using agile & DevOps methodologies. The products range from both front-end to back-end consumer applications, from store staff to HQ employee services & tooling. 
The team focuses on new innovations that shapes the future of retailing, as well as solving pain-points our end users have today in their daily store operations. Our team identifies and scopes new initiatives & features to offer an improved consumer experience and a more efficient operating model.
Partnering with the Tech Department, this team prioritizes the initiatives & features to be worked on and steers the multidisciplinary development teams to ensure maximum value is delivered to the business. Our team ensures features are designed, build, tested, validated and ready to be implemented in the markets by the Omnichannel Expansion team. 
The Products team drives complex and innovative initiatives and products, which sit across multiple sales channels, departments and technologies. Today the Products team consists of 9 product teams, focusing on the following areas: 
-   Digital Retail: instore digital experiences such as mobile journeys, CRM/loyalty in-store journeys, store associates solutions
-   Omnichannel Services: solutions that link orders and stock between Ecom and Retail such as ship from store, collect in store, return in store
-   Retail Inventory Management Solutions: solutions aiming to improve store inventory processes including the use of RFID technology
-   In-store Sales: POS development
-   Planning & Merchandising: developing a new omnichannel merchandising & planning tool to serve all channels
The team consists Product Managers, Product Owners and Product Specialists, collaborating with business and Tech team members using agile/scrum methodology. The team environment is dynamic, open and outcome driven. 

The Position & Responsibilities
The Director Omnichannel Products reports into the Senior Director Omnichannel Development & Operations and is responsible for all product management activities in the Omnichannel & Retail domain. 
The Director Omnichannel Products is responsible for the 9 product teams, ranging from their performance, development and health. In more detail:

  • Drive the product vision and strategy of the Omnichannel Products domain, support the teams to derive OKRs from this, and perform quarterly reviews to make sure the team is continuing to focus on the right company objectives
  • Be accountable for the management of the omnichannel roadmap, prioritization of backlog based on value, with a focus on outcome, and align on large product initiatives with senior management 
  • Empower & develop a team of around 15 internal people and externals to expand their skill sets to further develop and deliver according to objectives 
  • Enable the product managers and product owners to drive and manage products autonomously, by supporting them on methodology, stakeholder management, removing impediments and ensuring they follow the right priorities 
  • Enable the team to drive the discovery, design, development and delivery of existing problem statement or new innovations, including timely delivery to the markets with the highest quality for sustainable impact
  • Collaborate closely with the Tech Department to design and adapt the product organization & ways of working to be most efficient and ensure the maximum value is delivered 
  • Partner with the head of the Omnichannel expansion and Omnichannel operations, in order to continuously optimize the way of working and drive successful product and project management. 
  • Align with (senior) stakeholders in the organization to ensure that products that are developed, get embedded within the organization
  • Manage the product development budget with strong focus on ROI and strategic company initiatives 
     

This position will need to forge strong partnerships and collaboration with:
-   The Tech department which steers the IT architecture landscape, as well as act as 1st and 2nd level support in case product issues get logged 
-   The Strategy team which shares direction on the overall omnichannel business strategy
-   The Expansion team which is responsible for the go to market and operational implementation of all products and services
-   The Business Operations team which is are responsible to support end users of live products on a day to day concerning business processes

The Ideal Candidate description: 

  • Approximately 7- 10 years' relevant experience, including 2 - 4 years leading / coaching a team
  • Strong experience in product management, agile way of working, using OKRs to deliver value, and using other agile methodologies such as Idea to Value framework
  • Proven track record of driving cross-functional, complex projects within agile, waterfall and hybrid methodologies 
  • Extensive experience in people management, and empowering people and teams to develop the product vision within the product pillar
  • Appetite for technology and process oriented mindset 
  • Highly structured and organized
  • Outstanding people and relationship skills; and ability to interact with different levels of a multi-cultural, international organization
