Development manager circular knits & sport TH WSW (Freelance)

Tasks of the product development manager circular knits and sport Tommy Hilfiger womenswear: 

• Responsible for maintaining efficient workflows and product quality by creatingcalendars capturing deadlines and key meetings based on general outline of timelines for the season, and communicate with team
• Liaise with Design for initial sourcing initiatives (e.g. sourcing trips) during Global Creative Research, with the objective tofoster innovation and to ensure competitive price points
• Advise Design during development process regarding cost implications and provide call-outs regarding quality risks to the product
• Responsible for product management throughout the development process, by attending key meetings (e.g. raw materials meeting,proto review, final price meeting, SMS review), and advising on possible improvements of product and margins , and signing off (preproduction) samples
• Negotiate FOB prices with Direct Vendors and guide the Buying Office in negotiations, ensuring margins are maintained for actualorder quantities
• Maintain close relationships with (Direct) Vendors and Buying Office, discussing development and production planning and managing escalation of pressing issues
• Review bulk orders with Buying & Planning to ensure timeliness of style bookings for bulk delivery
• Oversee and consult on operational activities of team, including product development-and administrative activities , and act oncall-outs made by team (e.g. consulting on risk assessment, and ensuring accuracy of data in PLM)
• Determine vendor allocation for protos and SMS and elaborate on vendor requests using technical packs, sketches, and measurementcharts, make sure team assists vendors during production, and manage escalation of issues during (bulk) production
• Engage in projects related to improvement of quality of products or way of working
• Manage learning and development of Product Development team
